FAQ

You’ve Got Questions—We’ve Got Answers

Is it safe to swim during a pandemic?

It is currently acknowledged to be safe to swim in properly maintained chlorinated swimming pools as chlorinated water has been shown to inactivate the COVID-19 virus.

The chlorine levels are monitored both automatically and manually at all times to ensure that the adequate levels are maintained.

Should I arrive with my swimsuit already on?

Yes! This is a very good idea, as you can go straight to your lessons from arrival! We also encourage you to shower at home as well.

Do I need to come early to lessons?

We encourage all swimmers and parents to arrive only within 10 minutes of their lesson start time, only stay to watch if necessary, and leave the pool area within 10 minutes of their lesson finishing.

Do I need to wear a mask whilst swimming?

You do not need to wear a mask whilst in the water. We highly advise keeping your mask on at all times when out of the water. You can bring a waterproof container to store your mask in whilst you are in the water.

Do the coaches wear a mask whilst teaching?

Whilst teaching in the water, all our teachers will wear a face shield. Coaches will wear either a face mask, face shield, or both when teaching out of the water.

Can I go swimming during my period?

Swimming during your period isn't a problem. However, you will want to use a tampon when swimming to protect your swimsuit. We also provide a maximum of 2 make-up lessons if you inform us of your absence at least 24 hours in advance, so you do not need to worry about missing out on progress.

Can I wear shoes or slippers on the pool deck?

You can ONLY wear slippers that have never been outside.
